REHABILITATION OF RAPTORS

We count with over 15 years of experience in rehabilitation of raptors in our center CRARSI (Centro de Rehabilitación de Aves Rapaces San Isidro). With the use of falconry techniques, we rehabilitate raptors that have been victims of illegal wildlife trade, hunting, and/or birds that have suffered other accidents.

RESEARCH

A lot of our raptor species are threatened, but we know little about them. With research we will learn about their ecological requirements, thus we will be able to develop conservation strategies consistent with the needs of the species, the environment, and the communities near them.

EDUCATION

Information, education, and a sense of belonging are our three strategies to change attitudes and perceptions of the communities towards the birds of prey they share their homes with.

Our priority species

The Black-and-chestnut Eagle

(Spizaetus isidori)

is our priority species and the reason for our foundation

It is considered to be one of the most threatened species in Colombia.

Habitat loss and illegal hunting are the main threats.
